lol So I do recommend it as a starting point - after all, if it was such a bad program, there wouldn't be so many people using it. However I know there are quite a few people who use it and quite a few tutorials on how to use it - and I think most people probably are a bit quicker to pick up how to use programs like that than I am. I don't like it and have tried to learn it, but it never clicked with me. I do prefer ZBrush to Blender, but again, it's hugely expensive and not many people can fork over that much money all at once.īut yeah, I agree, Blender is a pain in the bottom to learn. My husband got it for me for a birthday present. I have it, but I never would have bought it myself. But it's free and it's a way to "get your feet wet" without the expensive programs. Also you can easily scale up UI elements in Blender if this is the primary reason you're not comfortable with this application. I found this quick YouTube tutorial helpful when I needed to change the size of Blender's UI. Pixologic doesn't have special licensing for non-profits, it's academic only ( ). Maybe Sculptris by Pixologic would fit your needs until ZBrush becomes more affordable.īlender is, as mentioned by others, a good option too. If i only i can get the student/academic version, i ll get it now, and upgrade in the later months to full. I have tried zbrush, although not as easy i thought, but i think i can cope with it better than blender. the UI is not as clunky and as small as blender,(my eyes hurt with all the small writings) and im not sure how to reconfigure the interface. i like zbrush because of easiness of sculpting, and its easy on the eyes.
think i d save that time for some other things in life. not as young anymore to learn and relearn stuffs multiple time.
i have tried to like it, but at this age im willing to throw in the money to save time and have easier life in arts.and skip all the very technical stuffs. i heard blender is however welcomed and used efficiently by the younger/new generation. reading tutorials everyhwere at cg cookies and other site. boy you sure like Blender eh? awesome.but i actullay have tried blender but its just hard for me and i struggled, and stressed out when using it.i have spent a year on blender. I think there are a lot more tutorials for that program as well.
I recommend starting with a free program like Blender.
